Course Details

This Low Voltage Rescue LVR CPR training course is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage a casualty involved in and perform rescue from a live LV panel. It is also designed to provide individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes for LVR CPR training include the emergency procedures for the rescue and the skills required to perform rescue of a victim from live LV panel

  • Inspection of rescue equipment
  • Hazard identification – manage accidental electrocution
  • Isolation
  • Knowledge of Safe Approach Distances
  • Low voltage rescue procedure
  • Knowledge of the correct use of the LVR Kit
  • CPR and AED theory and practical assessment
  • Involvement of eternal emergency services

On successful completion of this course participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment:

UETTDRRF06B – Perform rescue from a live LV panel (Current)

HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Current)

All assessments for this course have been designed to assess an individuals competence within the Australian Qualification Framework, relevant Training Package, RII, Australian and Industry expectations; as well as Commonwealth and State Legislation.

All units of competency consists of both written and practical components and individuals will be assessed accordingly.

Program Benefits

Harness employs trainers from diverse industry sectors to ensure training is personalised and contextualised training to participants.

Tailoring training in this way enables Harness trainers to present the most relevant case studies, that you are most likely to respond to.

This enables participants on successful completion of LVR and CPR training to feel satisfactorily trained to manage a casualty involved in and perform rescue from a live LV panel and to provide CPR should the situation arise.

Learning Methods

The mode of delivery for this LVR CPR training course is face to face in a classroom environment as well as practical elements to demonstrate competency.

Course Content

Prepare to perform rescue procedures from live LV panel

  • Instruction in hazards and risk control measures for specific work functions and work areas are identified and obtained. (This will include the risk assessment and control measures taken by the individual performing the rescue).
  • Electricity isolation point is identified and labelled where appropriate.
  • Tools and emergency equipment are checked for safety, functionality and placed in an accessible location to facilitate response and rescue according to established procedures.

Carry out rescue from live LV panel

  • Workplace procedures and work instructions for controlling risk are followed.
  • Workplace procedures for accessing and isolating the LV panel and removing the victim, where necessary, from contact with live apparatus are followed.
  • Workplace procedures for applying CPR if required at the site and gaining access to treatment by a medical professional if necessary are followed.
  • The worksite is secured and entry controlled until appropriate authorities inspect and release the site.

Complete the LV panel rescue procedure

  • Processes for reporting accidents and/or incidents to authorised personnel are confirmed in accordance with established procedures.

  • Display respectful behaviour towards casualty
  • Operate automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturer’s instructions
