Course Details

Harness offers combined Fatigue Management Level 1 & 2 training which  which involves the skills and knowledge required to apply fatigue management strategies within the transport and logistics industry. It also includes the skills and knowledge required to administer the implementation of fatigue management strategies during work operations in a defined workplace in accordance with national and state/territory legislation and relevant regulations.

On successful completion, participants will be awarded the Unit of Competencies:

  • Apply fatigue management strategies TLIF0005.
  •  Administer the implementation of fatigue management strategies – TLIF0006.

Learning Outcomes:

The assessment for this course has been designed to assess the individual to the Australian Qualification Framework, relevant Training Package RII, Australian and Industry expectations, as well as Commonwealth and State Legislation.

On successful completion, participants will be awarded the Unit of Competencies:

  • Apply fatigue management strategies TLIF0005.
  •  Administer the implementation of fatigue management strategies – TLIF0006.

The mode of delivery for this course is face to face in a classroom environment as well as significant practical elements outside of the classroom.

In the delivery of this course, our trainers focus on providing an individualised adult learning environment that considers the learner’s employment history and experience in the industry.

Theory is presented in a supportive learner centered environment designed to provide functional theoretical knowledge that is directly applicable to real world tasks.

Learning materials provided include the Harness student handbook and participants will be advised in advance of attending the course if there are any materials to be provided by them.

Course Content:

Throughout the Harness course our trainers will cover off the below operations ensuring a comprehensive understanding of both practical and theoretical elements.

Apply fatigue management strategies TLIF0005:

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to identify, apply and follow chain of responsibility legislation, regulations and workplace procedures in relation to heavy vehicles as they apply to an individual’s own job role.

It includes explaining the chain of responsibility features, applying the requirements, and identifying and reporting breaches in the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and regulations or applicable state/territory law and regulations.

Administer the implementation of fatigue management strategies – TLIF0006:

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to administer the implementation of fatigue management strategies during work operations in a defined workplace in accordance with national and state/territory legislation and relevant regulations.

It includes monitoring the implementation of fatigue management strategies, recognising breaches of fatigue management policies, procedures and regulations, and developing and assessing staff competence in fatigue management.

It also includes providing feedback to staff on shortcomings in their fatigue management skills and knowledge, and reporting to management on the implementation of fatigue management policy.
